Meet Our Staff
Brian Bott, CP
President, Certified Prosthetist
Brian worked at Bremer Prosthetic Design for 9 years before recently purchasing Hellner and Associates.
He graduated from SVSU with his degree in Athletic Training which allowed him to work with injured athletes in healing and rehabilitation.
Brian graduated from Northwestern University’s inaugural Master’s program in March of 2015 with his Master’s Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He earned his prosthetic certification in 2017
Brian decided to go into prosthetics due to his passion for patient care and helping individuals get back to their lives after injury.
He enjoys bringing joy back to individuals who have experienced limb loss and helping them work to achieve their goals with their custom fit prostheses.
When he isn’t working, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities including hunting and camping.
Robert "Buddy" Hellner, CPO
Prosthetist / Orthotist
Robert graduated with high honors from Michigan State University in 1972 with a Bachelor's of Science degree.
Robert completed his prosthetic and orthotic schooling at UCLA and NYU and has been a certified practitioner in the field since 1978.
Buddy, as he is known to his patients and friends, has had diverse career experience in both private practice and also as the Director of Prosthetics at the University of Michigan Hospital.
He is perhaps most proud of his 25+ years of servicing the needs of our veterans at the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital.
In addition to his American Board Certification (ABC), Robert has continuously updated his credentials and continued his education to take advantage of all the newest technologies to serve his patients.
When Buddy is away from the office he enjoys his cabin up north and boating on Torch Lake.
Cassi DePaulis CPO, MSOP
Certified Prosthetist
Cassi received both her Associates Degree in Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology and her Bachelor degree in Health Service Administration from Baker College.
In 2015 she graduated from Eastern Michigan University with her Master's in Orthotics and Prosthetics. She is currently a certified prosthetist Orthotist.
Cassi has been a part of our organization for 9 years and her strong technical/mechanical skills make her an invaluable addition to our team. We are very fortunate to have her work with us.
She enjoys working with patients and giving them a second chance at mobility.
When Cassi is not at work she's busy taking care of her two children and enjoying lake life and all the activities that accompany it.
Stacey Irwin
Office Staff
Stacey Irwin brings 20+ years of experience to our workplace.
She is considered the reimbursement specialist and work hard to provide a clear expectation of service and insurance coverage for all our patients prior to leaving our office.
In addition to her knowledge, she always has a smile and a warm cup of coffee available.
Stacey spends her time outside of work taking care of her two children and visiting her cabin up north in Grand Marais.
Residents and Pups
For a small office, Hellner & Associates Prosthetics & Orthotics is a pretty busy place. For the past 5 years, we have participated in residency programs at EMU (clinician residents) and Baker College (technician residents) so there are often other 'white coats' around.
Hellner & Associates is also dog-friendly and you may be greeted with a friendly "woof”. If you have allergies or other dog-related issues, please let us know and we will accommodate you.
